The overall responsibilities for this position involve supervision of the Electrical team and overseeing all maintenance installation in the Power Distribution section and the Motor Rewind Workshop. You will ensure maximum availability of Electrical equipment for production purposes
The applicant must have a good working knowledge of power transmission and distribution equipment up to 46kv including all associated controls, safety devices and protection relays. You will be capable of reading and correctly interpreting electrical drawings and motor rewinding diagrams. Sound knowledge of high, medium and low voltage reticulation systems, transformers and switch gear is expected.
The tasks and responsibilities of the job holder would include but is not limited to the following
· Ensuring that proper planning of all maintenance tasks is carried out
· Ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out effectively
· To enforce compliance with the company’s Health and Safety ‘policy Compiling and maintaining all maintenance records
· Preparation of reports as required
· Budgetary control
· Ensuring that spares are available
Qualification & Experience
The applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Power Option) from an accredited institution, will be familiar with IEEC and other applicable electrical codes with at least seven years experience in a power generating company or major industry.
