VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA) –invites applications from qualified and interested Sierra Leoneans to fill the under mentioned vacant position at its Tower Hill complex.

1. POSITION: Trade Librarian Officer
SALARY RANGE: Attractive
REPORT TO : Director of Export Development LOCATION: Freetown

Duties &Responsibilities
· Develops an information collection (print and digital) appropriate to the needs of the exporters and investors base of the information service (acquiring books, periodicals, online services and other information centre materials.
· Oversees the information processing requirements of the information service (e.g. cataloguing, classifying, indexing
· Provides information services and instruction to the users, including reference services, bibliographic and electronic instructions, promotions and ITC services and resources.· Response to queries received from visitors/in person, via telephone, fax, mail, email.
· Preparation of an operational plan for the trade information centre
· Coordination of the acquisition of suitable information sources
· Organization of existing and newly acquired information sources.
· Establishment of management procedures to facilitate the efficient operation of the Service, including mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating its performance.
· Conduct information research using a variety of information resources: print, online
· Coordinates production of exporters database
· Coordinates information content for SLIEPA Website
· Coordinate the Information Services publication activities, including newsletters, Country Market Guides.
· Provides enquiry/research services at the enquiry desk (part-time).
· Assists clients with the use of information resources and related equipment
· Provides information about the Trade Information Service’s activities, facilities, policies and services, and resources.
· Plan and directs or carries out special projects.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

· Diploma in Economics, Management or equivalent, and/or at least 2 years experience in information services.
· Basic knowledge of Internet applications, html programming
· Good knowledge of trade information resources.
· Ability to conduct research on online resources
· Good interpersonal and communications skills
· Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing, read and understand information presented in writing.
· Supervise others by assigning/directing work and development, taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective action.

· Strong interpersonal skills and mediating ability.

. Able and willing to work extended hours on occasions when required.
· May be striving financially but not desperate or in serious dept.

Computer Skills

· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel, Word Access, basic Internet and email.

REPORT TO: Director of Export
LOCATION: Freetown

Duties &Responsibilities

· Conduct information research using a variety of information resources: print, electronic, internet
· Proactively seeks out information needed to satisfy users.
· Coordinates and maintains company database
· Prepares content for the Website
· Coordinates the TIC publication activities
· Prepares Newsletter for publication
· Responds to the inquiries received via telephone, mail, email, website
· Provides enquiry/research services at the enquiry desk (par-time).
· Conducts appropriate, effective reference interviews.
· Assists clients with the use of information resources and related equipment
· Provides information about the Information Service’s activities, facilities, policies and services, and resources.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

· Degree in Economics, Management or equivalent, and/or at least 2 years experience in information services
· Basic computer literacy, ability to use MS Office Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point),
· Basic knowledge of Internet applications, html programming
· Good knowledge of trade information resources
· Ability to conduct research on online resources
·Good interpersonal and communications skills
