In Sierra Leone, Bottle Used to Deflower Teenage Girl

Doctors at the Kambia Government Hospital are still fighting to save the life of a teenage girl (name withheld) who was crudely deflowered (virginated) by her step mother and step sister using a Star Beer bottle, sources at the Kambia Government Hospital have revealed.

Forty three (43) years old Makalay Bangura and her twenty one (21) years old daughter, Sento Bangura, of Kasasi village, Kamakwei, Bombali District, have since disappeared into thin air after an alarm was raised and the matter reported to the police.

Youths in the village have vowed that they are going to insert bottles into the private parts of the perpetrators if they ever set eyes on them.

The victim has been staying together with her father, step mother and step sister since the death of her biological mother in 2006. Her father also died in May 2009.

The teenage girl is reported to have suffered various forms of maltreatment in the hands of her step mother and step sister since then.

An eyewitness, who identified himself as Mr. Morlai Dumbuya, told the Awareness Times that the unfortunate incident started in the evening hours of Monday 15th March 2010, when the victim returned home from a long distance farm, where she spent the rest of that day working as part of her daily routine.

“On her arrival, the step mother, Makalay, accused the girl of having coming from a boyfriend’s house and threatened to pour paper into her private part” Dumbuya explained, adding that the threat was made shortly after the girl had received severe beating from the step mother.

According to Dumbuya, the girl became terrified over the step mother’s pronouncement and bolted away. “She never returned until midnight of Tuesday 16th March 2010” Dumbuya furthered, adding that the step mother and her daughter then proceeded to grab, undress, tie up, and forcefully inserted a star beer bottle into the private part of the virgin girl.

He said the teenage girl suffered profuse bleeding throughout the night and was only rescued by neighbours who got wind of the incident and rushed the girl to the hospital.

The whereabouts of the step mother and her daughter is still unknown, but sources say they were spotted in the evening of Wednesday 17th March 2010 along the Pamlap/Guinea border environs.
