Maada Bio, one of the flagbearer aspirants of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has with glaring intent directed verbal attacks on the editorial board of the Awareness Times Newspaper, with specific reference to the newspaper’s Publisher, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden and Editor Abdul Karim Kabia (Fonti), during a television interview on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

The maverick Bio shamelessly yesterday without trace of proof publicly alleged on television that Dr. Sylvia Blyden was being paid to write against him in order to undermine his aggressive campaign to lead the SLPP, but woefully failed to substantiate his assertion.

In her initial response last night when contacted by the Awareness Times, Dr. Sylvia Blyden stated thus: "Let him continue to insult me that I have been paid because I have truthfully exposed his unfitness for the presidency and also exposed how APC is wishing to make him win so as to take him to Inquest or in the alternative, if he loses, use him as their new ‘PMDC’ pawn. SLPP delegates, who know what I stand for, will answer him for me at the SLPP flagbearer convention".
