NOTIFICATION FOR PUBLIC DISCLOSURE ON THE ENVIONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (ESIA) REPORTS ON GOLD MINING OPERATION AT KAMPALA VILLAGE IN THE LAMINAIA SECTION, SANDA LOKO CHIEFDOM BOMBALILI DISTRICT BY U.A MINING COMPANY SIERRA LEONE LTD.
This advert serves to notify interested and/or affected persons/parties of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) conducted for U.A Mining Company Sierra Leone Ltd, in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
In conformity with the Sierra Leone Environmental Protection Agency Act 2008, U.A Mining Company Project needs to be planned and designed in a manner that minimizes potential negative social and environmental impacts. This is expected to be achieved through the ESIA Process that was undertaken by The Environmental Consulting Services in Sierra Leone on behalf of U.A Mining Company (SL) LTD.
The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report has been presented to the Environmental Protection Agency in Sierra Leone (EPA-SL) to be presented to the affected and interested stakeholders during the public disclosure processes for discussion.
The Environmental Consulting Services, the Environment Protection Agency and the U.A Mining Company, Propose to conduct stakeholder’s engagement process at the following location and date at 10 a.m.
·Kamalou Town Hall on Monday 28th May 2012.
The Report has been reported in one volume, The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study for Kampala Village in the Sanda Loko Chiefdom Bombalili District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
The report is now available for reference purposes up to Friday 25th of May at the following locations:
· The Sierra Leone Environmental Protection Agency (SLEPA) office, 3rd Floor Youyi Building;
· U.A Mining Company (SL) LTD at 71 Berwick Street in Freetown.
Stakeholders and/or interested person/parties are invited to participate in the consultation process for the Public Disclosure processes at the above mentioned locations. Your input and any issues or insights that you may have regarding the projects will be valuable. Comments can be submitted verbally at the Stakeholder’s workshop or written format.
