Mambola Gets New Mammy Queen
Reports have disclosed that, Mrs. Linda Isatu Koroma, the wife of Minister of Works, Housing and Infrastructure was recently crowned as Mammy Queen and head of all women chiefs in Mambolo Chiefdom in the Kambia District. Paramount Chief PC Bai Shebora Lion reportedly informed that, he crowned Madam Isatu is consultation with all his sub chiefs. The woman is believe to be of substance, prestige and is generous according to local tabloids.
Farmer Beats Wife to Death
One Daniel Sumaila, a farmer of Kpetima Village Wandor Chiefdom recently appeared before the Kenema Magistrate Court for alleged murder. Daniel is reported to have killed his wife in April last month. Matter was adjourned to 1st June 2012.
ACC Woman Stabs Husband to Death
An ACC worker Finda Bangura has allegedly stabbed her husband, ASP Bangura to death in Freetown, local tabloids revealed. Reports say the deceased and wife had a colorful marriage last year in Freetown. The incidence occurred as a result of quarrel between the couple. Matter is under investigation.
Mercury Rescues Premier League
Local tabloids say Mercury International, the leading Football battling and Lotto Company recently donated Le 200 million to Premier League Board to facilitate the second phase of the ongoing premier league games. The company also doled out, the sum of Le 250 million to regional and district football bodies in the country. This gesture is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to improve football in the Country.
Soja Tong Braces up for Development
Reports have it that elders and youth of Soja Tong located in the heart of Freetown City have agreed to develop that community. The construction of a community center and health center are their first priorities on the development agenda. According to reports, two successful meetings have been held at the community glade known as the Garden.
YSS Pupils Receive MAP Scholarship
Reports have disclosed that Me Against Poverty Inc. (MAP) in collaboration with the Yonibana Secondary School (YSS) recently award scholarships to some pupils. The beneficiaries were pupils who emerged as winners of essay competition conducted by the school. According to reports, 20 pupils got the scholarships and certificates.
