One of the most vocal, erstwhile loyal supporters of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Mr. Mohamed Jabbie who was the former SLPP Spokesman for Bo District, has June 9th 2012, described SLPP as prone to driving people away whilst he said the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) has great expertise in drawing people to their party.
“The Mathematics sign that is well understood by the SLPP is the minus sign whilst the Mathematics sign used by the APC is the plus sign. SLPP Mathematics is subtraction but APC Mathematics is addition,” Mohamed Jabbie mocked his former party over a microphone; to loud cheers from the gathering of thousands on the streets.
Mr. Mohamed Jabbie who was also a former SLPP Youth Leader and has been a member of the SLPP for almost forty years, recounted to the crowd his deep roots in the South and East of Sierra Leone spanning from Kailahun in East to Bo and Moyamba in the South. He however lamented of how an inability of current SLPP to practise decent politics has forced him and many others to follow Usman Boie-Kamara to the APC.
Jabbie also stated that the generous nature of the President, even to his political opponents is what will make his legacy to remain alive long after he would have left seat of President. According to Mr. Jabbie, President Koroma’s heart, like Usman Boie-Kamara’s, is full of love for mankind.
