An email sent from Publisher of Awareness Times to Mr. Oswald Hanciles, President's Special Assistant on Media Outreach has stated Julius Maada Bio acted as Deputy Head of State to Captain SAJ Musa in 1992, a few weeks before the extra-judicial murders of Bambay Kamara, Salami Coker and others in December 1992. Publisher Dr. Sylvia Blyden has also informed that Tayyib Bah's expected ‘Open Letter to Julius Maada Bio’ has been with-held awaiting the presence of Bio himself on Sierra Leone soil. Sieh Bangura, the O/C at Kissy Police was not a woman. It was a man. His daughter is the celebrity Racheal Bangura of TELL IT TO RACHEL fame... Just thought I should make this small correction to an otherwise excellent research piece.

At my request, former Police Supt and member of the National Security Council under NPRC, Supt. Mohamed El Tayyib Bah has kindly consented to hold on to his OPEN LETTER to Julius Maada Bio until Bio lands on the shores of Sierra Leone. It will shed more light on the role of Maada Bio in those incidents. At least, it is now on record that Bio was NOT the Information Minister at the time of the killings. That was Hindolo Trye's position. Bio was the PLO-1 and third in command. It was Maada Bio who acted as Deputy Head of State to SAJ Musa as Acting Head of State during the seven weeks of 1992 (August to September) that Strasser was in America taking treatment for his leg thus effectively making him (Maada Bio) to be the de-facto Third in Command of the NPRC from August 1992.

It is just too bad that our Head of State has been advised to treat the families of the victims as if they have leprosy.
