So very sad to announce the death of the President's mother, Mrs. Alice Rosaline Koroma. She just turned 80 years old last Wednesday June 27th. She was hale and hearty until 11pm last night when she went to bed after her usual Christian prayers. She got a heart attack in her sleep and by 3am this morning of July 6th 2012, she passed away.
She will be deeply missed by her children especially her eldest son, Ernest Bai Koroma, who was very close to his mum.
Personally, I also feel so sad at the news. I recall this year when the pro-opposition newspapers went on a rampage to state ill things about me and the President's mum. The deeply religious woman phoned me up to ask me not to pay them heed. As a means of giving the world a better understanding of what really transpires, she decided to give me an exclusive interview on the same day a pro-opposition tabloid came out with a rather vicious take on the issue.
"Nor answer them, just leave everything to God to take care" I remember her saying. That was just a few weeks ago. She was a special lady and she was so deeply proud of her son. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
