As members the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party are preparing to bid final farewell to the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Vice Chairman of the APC party, Hon. Victor Chukuma Johnson, the sudden death of the sitting Minister of Labour and Social Security, Mr. Hindolo Sumanguru Trye was in the early hours of Thursday 26th July 2012, announced.
The late Mr. Hindolo Trye fell ill late Wednesday 25th July at his Lumley residence and was subsequently rushed by family members to the Chiotram Hospital on Hill Station in Freetown where he later died .His mortal remains was then conveyed to the Virtues Funeral Parlor where he is currently lying awaiting funeral rites.
The late man was the legendary leader of the students’ uprising in Sierra Leone in 1977. He also worked for the TABLET newspaper and spent years in exile in the 1980s and the early parts of the 1990s. He served as Minister in the National Provisional Ruling Council (NPRC) junta and in 2005 joined the then opposition APC. When the APC came to power in 2007, Mr. Trye was appointed Minister of Tourism and Culture by His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. He was later appointed Minister of Labour and Social Security, a position he held until his death.

Members and supports of the APC in particular and Sierra Leoneans in general were shock by the announcement of the death of Mr. Trye.
Reports say party stalwarts and supporters among other mourners, had already visited the residence of the late minister in Lumley to sympathize with his family. The death of Mr. Trye came at a time when APC party members are all busy fixing arrangements for the burial of the late Victor Chukuma Johnson who died on 15th July this year. The late Mr. Johnson was yesterday 26th July laid at his Waterloo residence in the Western Rural District and is expected to be laid at the Miatta Conference Hall, Youyi Building in Freetown today July 27. He is also expected to be laid in Parliament tomorrow Saturday July 28, to be followed by a funeral service to be held for him on Sunday 29th July 2012 in Waterloo.
