An international religious organization, IHH based in Turkey in collaboration with the Wellington Muslims Association (WMA) based in Sierra Leone, have distributed food items worth over fifty million leones (Le50,000,000) to thirty-five (35) Mosque and Muslim organizations in the Western Area.
The purpose of the donation was to support Muslims who cannot afford for themselves, food to break their fasting (IFTAR).

Speaking at the donation ceremony which was held at the Secretariat of the WMA at the Industrial Estate in Wellington, President of WMA, Alhaji Osman Dumbuya recalled that since 2005, IHH has been supporting Muslims in Sierra Leone by providing IFTAR for them during Ramadan.
He revealed that, IHH is currently supporting four hundred orphans in Sierra Leone with regards the promotion of their education and social welfare.

Alhaji Dumbuya further revealed that, IHH has also been very supportive to Muslims in this country on Eidul Ahda (Pray day), by providing cattle for them to sacrifice at the end of the holy month of fasting.
He used the forum on behalf of his Association to express thanks and appreciation to IHH, and the Government and people of Turkey for supporting Muslims in Sierra Leone. He used the forum to call upon the general membership of the WMA and the people of Sierra Leone to continue their cooperation with the IHH.

Head of the IHH Delegation from Turkey to Sierra Leone, Mr. Haci Bayram Shain said the aim of IHH is to ensure that all Muslims across the globe are united and are provided for in time of need. He said it is in this regard that they have decided to pay a visit to Muslims in Sierra Leone in order to share this objective.
According to him, his Association want to ensure that Muslims allover the world behaved like the human body, wherein when one part of it is infected, the entire body will suffer from the infection.

He said with this phenomenon, when Muslims in Sierra Leone are suffering from whatever problem, that same problem should affect Muslims in Turkey and the world over. Mr. Shain pointed out that, his organization, IHH of Turkey, is currently providing assistance to Muslims in over one hundred and thirty countries worldwide.
He urged Muslims in Sierra Leone to continue to offer prayers for Muslims that are suffering in other parts of the world in the hand of non Muslims, whilst concluding with one of the teachings of the Prophet of Islam, the Holy Prophet Mohamed (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), that whosoever has the intention to assist another person that is in need, but lacks the capability to do so, will be rewarded by Allah for his intension.

Recipients of the donation expressed thanks and appreciation to IHH and the Government and people of Turkey for what they described as a wonderful Ramadan gesture.
Some of the Mosque that benefited from the donation were, Alhaq Mosque, Amin Central Mosque, Kulafai Rashideen Mosque, Fatoh Mosque, Rashad Mosque, Isha Central Mosque, Salaam Mosque, Islamic Women Organization for Education and Development, Allen Town Muslim Organization and Why Islam in Action, among others.

In another engagement, the WMA in collaboration with IHH, also provided food for fast breaking for over two hundred and fifty Muslims, at the Association’s Secretariat in Wellington.
