One of the leading Telecommunication companies in Sierra Leone, Africell Lintel Limited, on Friday 10th August 2012 gave twenty million leones cash to the second winner of the company’s Ramadan raffle draw promotion, code named ‘Africell Ramadan Hidden Treasure Hunt 2.’
The handing over ceremony of the Le20 million and various other prizes to lucky Africell subscribers took place at the company’s Headquarters at Wilberforce in Freetown.
Below is the statement made by the company’s Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Joe Abass Bangura before distributing the prizes to the winners.

Members of the Fourth Estate, Africell Valued Subscribers, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, Good Morning. We are pleased to welcome you all here today, to witness the third (3rd) Presentation Ceremony of prizes to winners of the Africell Ramadan Hidden Treasure Hunt 2 Promotion. This promotion started on the 20th July 2012 and two sets of presentation of prizes were carried out on 27th July and 3rd August 2012.
Today we are presenting prizes to winners that were drawn from shows held on the 2nd to the 8th August 2012.

Promotion Description
To get a chance to take part in this promotion, Africell Subscribers should send blank text to or call 777 at a cost of 10 units to automatically qualify for the daily selection; the company will give back 10 on-net units to the subscriber for each call made or text sent; these on-net units must however be utilized before 12 midnight of the same day it is received.
The show is held live on SLBC TV with simultaneous broadcasts on major Radio stations nationwide between 7:00pm and 8:00pm from Mondays to Saturdays.

Qualifying numbers are randomly selected using a computer software. On selection of a number, the subscriber will be dialed and then prompted to choose a number between 1 and 40; the window with the number chosen, will be opened to give the subscriber one of the following 4 alternatives;
1. Winning Cash Prizes ranging from Le100,000 to Le300,000
2. Winning from 400 to 1000 units airtime
3. A chance to spin to the Wheel of Fortune and win one of four items- a Plasma TV, Generator, Fridge/Freezer or 400 or 800 units airtime
4. A chance to go to the Genie for the Treasure Hunt-with a chance to win the Star Prize of Le20,000,000 or a consultation prize of Le200,000.

The promotion will last till Monday 20th August 2012.
During our first presentation ceremony, a nineteen year old student of the Services Secondary School, Ishmael M. Bockarie won the first grand prize of Le20,000,000. Today we are going to present another Le20,000.000 star prize cash to Mr. Abdulai Abass Koroma of Regent Road Lumley, Freetown, with GSM Number 088-922-128. Abdulai dropped out of the Magburaka Boys School whilst in Form 2 and then trained at the then Trade Center as Auto Electrician- as business continued to be bad, he learnt to drive and took on driving as a profession and presently drives a private car.
He is married with 4 kids. Africell is really proud that we are changing the lives of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.

Winners and members of the Media are reminded of the provisions of the Finance Act 2008 that all Lottery winnings from 500,000 and above are subject to 10% Lottery tax. We have already deducted this tax from all winnings in this category and will pay the tax over to the National Revenue Authority (NRA).
