His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and the rest of the Koroma family at home and abroad wish to express and extend their profound appreciation to all Sierra Leoneans, who in their diverse ways sympathized and mourned with them during the time of their grief over the death of their beloved mother, grand and great grandmother, mother of the Nation, Madam Alice Koroma.

We wish to further extend special appreciation and thanks to the Diplomatic and Consular Corps for the sympathy expressed from the day Mama passed away to the day she was laid to rest.

We also sincerely appreciate from the bottom of our hearts, Heads of States and distinguished friends from Africa and other nations, for their Letters of Condolences sent to President Koroma on behalf of their citizens and on their own personal behalf.

On behalf of the Koroma family we wish to extend our appreciation to Cabinet Ministers, Honourable Members of Parliament, Members of the Judiciary, members of the private sector and the stone breakers, bike riders, business organizations and parastatals for sympathizing with the family.

We the Koroma family extend our thanks and appreciation to the clergy for their words of faith, compassion and grace during our bereavement.

We the Koroma family further wish to express our appreciation and thanks to musicians who composed songs dedicated to our late mother, Mama Alice and to the media as a whole for their kind sentiments made over electronic and print media from the hour of death of the Mother of the Nation to the day she was laid to rest in the bosom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
