The Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA), wish to inform the General Public and the business community that, the 5th Annual German European Trade Fair 2012 will be held at the International Conference Centre Accra, Ghana from the 25th -27th September 2012.

 

The Trade Fair is organized by the Ghanaian-German Economic Association (GGEA), and it is the largest platform to display European Industrial Products and Services including Manufacturing and Technology in the ECOWAS market.


The aim of the Trade Fair is to promote European-African trade in the ECOWAS region through product display and partnership promotion.

 

In line with this, SLIEPA has received some grant from the European Union to facilitate the participation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the upcoming Trade Fair.


“Without dampening the strategic importance of our foreign partners, we will redirect a considerable chunk of our energies to engaging the local private sector’’ comments Patrick Caulker, CEO-SLIEPA.


Please note that, there are only limited spaces available and the core target sectors will include agriculture, manufacturing, handicraft, and food processing


All those interested in participating at the Ghanaian-German European Trade Fair should contact the reception desk at the SLIEPA Office, OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Freetown from Monday the 13th August 2012, to pick up the application form for completion and submit the completed forms not later than Friday 24th August, 2012 at the same address or email: jkamara@sliepa.org or call mobile number +232 78 548167/76 775123 for further details.


In order to be eligible to participate in the upcoming trade fair, each applicant must meet at least some of the following criteria:

· Quality of the goods and services must meet both local and international standards in terms of:

a) Design

b) Style

c) Texture

d) Branding

e) Packaging

· Availability of Promotional materials like brochures, business cards etc

· Registered with either central government authority or local councils.

· Availability of products in terms of quantity/volume

SLIEPA is an implementing agency of the Ministry of Trade and Industry responsible for the co-ordination, promotion and generation of foreign and domestic investments and also development of traditional and non-traditional products through export diversification, value addition and provision of support to SME’s.
