The headquarters of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Wednesday 15th August 2012 escaped a fire disaster that would have razed the entire building to the ground. Upon learning about the incident, Awareness Times caught up with the National Secretary-General Victor Bockarie Foh at his APC Office, who intimated this medium that party supporters outside the building saw thick smoke coming from one of the offices and it at that point they raised an alarm for help.
Mr. Bockarie Foh told our reporter that the office where the smoke emanated from is an important office where vital documents are kept such as party membership cards and registration forms. He however said that with the timely arrival of the Fire Force the situation was put under control and fortunately, no document was destroyed.
“Who is behind this sabotage of our party and wants to burn our office. If it is sabotage from different quarters they have failed and it is a sign of victory for November elections” Victor Foh opined. He went on to say they are going to look into the matter as he would not want to arrive at any hasty conclusion.
Although Victor Foh did not reveal the specific office which was affected, SLBS TV’s 9pm news of last night reported that a mattress was placed in front of the door leading directly into Ernest Koroma’s APC Chairman/Leader’s office and set ablaze. CID Director Karrow Kamara was shown as he displayed what was left of the burnt mattress which he told shocked viewers was placed in front of the door of the APC Leader’s office. He said the mattress owner usually sleeps at the office but not at that specific location in front of the leader’s office so the mysterious movement of the mattress to the Leader’s office is something the police is investigating.
