CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: RAINWATER HARVESTING TECHNOLOGY AT PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS BUILDINGS
The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources (MEWR) is intending to embark on a Pilot Project to harvest rainwater at strategic sites. The Ministry is therefore inviting Expression of Interest from Public, Private Companies or individuals (contractors) who would be interested to undertake the assignment on its behalf.
Background
Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) technology is identified in the National WASH Policy as the alternative source of self supply of water. The technology has been applied in various countries and its potential benefits are well documented hence the MEWR is going to introduce the technique in Sierra Leone, starting with selected public buildings to showcase.
RWH technique involves collecting rainwater that not only has the potential to provide local communities but also is an opportunity to secure supplemental water resource. The Ministry drafted Guidelines for RWH in order to educate water services providers and also to be used as a reference for the implementation of this technology.
