Disabled International Foundation Sierra Leone will Saturday March 9th 2013 officially launch its United Kingdom branch. The foundation was set up as a way of rebranding the minds of disabled people in the country.
Speaking to this medium ahead of the Saturday launching ceremony, Madam Imambay Kadie Kamara, Executive Director Disabled International Foundation said it gives her joy in launching the foundation in the United Kingdom as that will help push the issues of the disabled further.
She said the Disabled foundation is a non-governmental organization with the aim of helping disabled persons, especially women, children and youths from begging on the streets as that has been the problem for over the years. Her organization, she said is working very hard in ensuring that they take the disabled off the streets.
"I am the type of person that always loves to be around young people and more especially the disabled because it is really a pleasure to interact with and help them in whatever development they are involved in," she smilingly informed this medium.
She said the launching will be held alongside a fundraising dinner in order to be able to secure funds for some projects that the organization is presently undertaking in Sierra Leone.
