The Minister of Transport and Aviation Leonard Balogun Koroma has told the  Director General/President of Royal Air Maroc, Mr. Driss BENHIMA that measures put in place by his Ministry at the Lungi International Airport have been so successful that not a single case of Ebola has been exported from Sierra Leone to the outside world.

Minister Balogun Koroma is in Morocco as head of a delegation which includes the Director of Civil Aviation Mr. Abubakaar Kamara, and Mr. Floyd Davies, Board Secretary and Legal Adviser, Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority.

Speaking at a meeting at the headquarters of Royal Air Maroc in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Logus Koroma said that he was an emissary of President Ernest Bai Koroma who has sent him to thank  King Mohamed, the Government and people of Morocco for the support of Royal Air Maroc in standing by Sierra Leone and in fact, increasing flight frequency to the country throughout the Ebola crisis .

" Sierra Leone has discovered a true friend in Morocco and Royal Air Maroc ", a friendship that could only be further strengthened, particularly in the area of establishing Air Mano.

Responding, President/Director General BENHIMA commended Minister Koroma and team for the robust screening measures put in place at Lungi Airport and advised that they must be maintained. He told Minister Koroma that the Kingdom of Morocco and Royal Air Maroc have proved that they are true friends of Sierra Leone adding that they will continue to stay with us beyond Ebola; reiterating that King Mohamed Believes in promoting good, brotherly and supportive relationships with African Countries.

He also expressed Royal Air Maroc's interest in partnership with Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia to establish Air Mano which he hoped will develop into a Regional Joint Venture Airline.

Minister Koroma and team are expected to meet with other Moroccan officials before traveling to Paris to meet officials of Air France , and to Brussels to meet with officials of Brussels Airlines for a second time. We will be covering his trip in full.
