Sections 29.(5) & 29.(6a) of Sierra Leone Constitution says during a period of State of Public Emergency, the President has extra-ordinary powers. Using those powers, the President can undertake such measures as appear to him to be necessary or expedient for purpose of maintaining & securing peace, order and good government in Sierra Leone AND if President deems it so, he can order for any person to be detained in jail without a court order.
