The second prosecution witness, Police Constable 1936 Mohamed Mustapha Samura who is currently attached at the Family Support Unit, Harbour Police Station has on Monday 14th February 2017, testified in Court before Magistrate Albert Moody at the Freetown Magistrate Court No.2 in the alleged case of three months old child kidnapping.
Police Constable 1936 Mohamed Mustapha Samura, disclosed in Court that on Wednesday 22 December 2016 he was on duty when the mother of the three months old baby reported the matter at the station against the accused Aminata Sillah. He added that he left the station together with two female officers in search of the accused Aminata Sillah. He went on that they arrested the accused Aminata Sillah at No.1 Hope Well Street, Kissy in the East end of Freetown. He added that they took the accused Aminata Sillah to the Harbour police station and obtained statement from her.
He went on that detective police constable 11100 Jabbie S. caution and question the accused Aminata Sillah and she responded in krio and her statement was recorded down in English and at the conclusion the said statement was read over and explain to her and she admitted it to be true and correct by affixing her right-hand thumb print.
Police Constable 1936 Mohamed Mustapha Samura said that during the course of the investigation at the Harbour police station, the said child was brought to the station by a relative of the accused Aminata Sillah.
He went on that they issued a medical request to the said child for treatment and examination at the Rainbow Center at Cottage hospital in Freetown.
He added that the said medical request was returned endorsed at the station by the mother of the three-month-old baby. He then handed over the said endorsed medical form to the court marked exhibit B.
According to detective police constable 5298 Musa Bangura who is currently attached at the Family Support Units Harbour police station said in court that on Friday January 27 2017 together with detective police constable 14108 Farma A. charged the accused Aminata Sillah with the offense of kidnapping.
Magistrate Albert Moody remanded the accused Aminata Sillah at the female Correctional Center in Freetown and the matter continue today February 15 2017.
