The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), on 24th February 2017, indicted nine (9) persons for Misappropriation of Donor Property, contrary to Section 37(2), and Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence, contrary to Section 128 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No.12 of 2008.
Kenneth Kakpa, Mathew Sannoh, Alie Fomba, and Prince Asumana (Alias T. Man), being employees of Community Development Integrated Organization, an NGO operating in Kenema; Ibrahim Conteh, Gabriel Jusu, Abdul Rahman Jaward Junior, and Isaac Jongopie Kamara, being employees of Tropical Firms Limited Company, Kenema; and Inna Kallon, being a trader of 42 Sumaila Street, Kenema, are charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence,contrary to Section 128 (1), Misappropriation of Donor Property, contrary to Section 37(2) of the AC Act No.12 of 2008.
The accused persons will appear before the High Court in Kenema to answer to the charges against them.
In a news release from ACC, it states that between 1st and 26th September 2016, the accused persons conspired to misappropriate 361 gallons of Vegetable Oil, 61 bags of Yellow Spilt Beans, 241 bags of broken rice, 47 bags of Corn Soya Blend, and Bags of Sugar, donated by the World Food Program for vulnerable communities affected by the Ebola Virus Disease in the Kailahun District.
