As Alpha Timbo, Maada Bio & Co. turn to Owemongers...SLPP North HQ Painted Red By Unpaid Landlord

Northern Regional Headquarters of the main opposition, Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has been closed and painted red by its unpaid landlord, who claimed that the party has not paid him rent for over two years now. The closure of the SLPP regional headquarters has thus rendered its rich 2018 Presidential Aspirants: including Alpha Timbo, Maada Boi and co. as ‘owemongers’.

‘Owemongers,’ in our native Krio Language, means someone who is unable to pay his depts. If we are to link the SLPP scenario of not been able to pay its landlord for two years now, then we are sure to say that the party is full of ‘owemongers.’

SLPP Northern Regional Administrative Headquarters Now Closed

Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Chairman of the Serra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Dr. Abass Bundu has informed the Awareness Times Newspaper that their Northern Regional Office was indeed closed.

Dr. Bundu made such disclosure to this medium on Wednesday 15th March 2017 via telephone interview. The SLPP strongman maintained that the regional office was closed by the landlord of the building they were occupying for the past years. Dr. Abass Bundu added the landlord since last year asked to buy the house with a whopping sum “They want to sell the property since last year but we as a party are not in position to buy it because they are asking for five hundred million leones and we can’t afford it. We are not a rich party” Dr. Abass Bundu slammed.

Dr. Bundu disclosed that the SLPP Northern Regional Office in Makeni was pad-locked on Wednesday 15th March, 2017 and they are currently in search of another house to relocate their office and transfer their properties. He continued that the landlord is not reasonable with their demand “We all know that the SLPP is the oldest party in Sierra Leone but not the richest. We can only afford to pay a rent not to buy but they say no, they want to sell” The SLPP strongman affirmed.

Furthermore, Dr. Bundu noted that the closure of the SLPP Regional Office in Makeni by the owner the building is not unusual and must not be blown out of proportion. He added that they have viewed about three places and they are currently negotiating to make a chose base on cost and other issues for possible relocation.

The SLPP Northern Regional Chairman Dr. Abass Bundu ended that when they finally get a new regional office in Makeni, they will disclose that to the press.

However, some supporters of the SLPP in Makeni received such news with total shock and disdain.

Mariam Kargbo in Makeni expressed her disappointment with the hierarchy of the SLPP in the north “What a shame to our party and I am totally disappointed at the entire leadership of the SLPP.”

Musa Vandy, a die-hearted supporter of the SLPP said the party has put his entire family in shame and disgrace. “How can the SLPP win the north when we cannot afford to build a regional office, only depends on rent?” Musa Vandy asked.
