Prominent Youth Ambassador, Anthony Navo Jnr, who has run the All Walks of Life (AWOL) organisation for the last 2 years, was re-elected Global Chairman, Saturday, 15th April 2017, at AWOL Annual General Meeting held at The Place, Tokeh, in Freetown.
This was a commanding, thumping win for Ambassador Navo. The scale of his landslide victory matters. The composition of his new executive is yet another indication that indeed AWOL is a diverse and inclusive organisation, with people from different tribal and political orientation. Clearly, this executive has shown that AWOL is a platform for both young and old people from all walks of life. AWOL has transformed from a small community-based organisation to what it has become today being one of the most successful and largest organisations in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora.

According to reliable sources present, Ambassador Navo was regarded as among the few people able to sustain Ambassador Fadika’s legacy and bring people together to promote the amazing work of AWOL. Ambassador Navo is regarded as a vastly experienced leader who has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities in manning the affairs of AWOL. Pipul Pikin Media understands that many of Ambassador Navo’s allies say he has deep support and his record-breaking leadership abilities and fundraising skills are qualities AWOL members need to move the organisation forward.
Ambassador Fadika who was best known for the famous quote: “We Are Born Poor. We Must Not Die Poor”, was a great AWOL leader. What he stood for and his legacy transcends all political parties and tribes. His appeal was to the deepest values of humanity and patriotism. His leadership was inclusive where all Sierra Leoneans felt part of AWOL. Ambassador Navo is now expected to lead on the late Ambassador Fadika’s legacy of uniting Sierra Leoneans and rally global support for AWOL’s development programmes across the world, strengthen the membership of the organisation.
Ambassador Navo, who is CEO of AYV Media Empire, has been regarded as a respected and authentic voice of people from all walks of life including the grassroots, contributing to nation building. Many AWOL members who spoke to Pipul Pikin Media believe that, under Ambassador Navo’s continued leadership: There will be one AWOL, one theme - unity - because only unity breeds development.
From the new executive list seen by Pipul Pikin Media, it appears that the position for AWOL godfather previously held by the late Ambassador Fadika remains vacant, as members were unable to agree on a new godfather. Reports are that the position of godfather will be reserved for Ambassador Fadika in ‘sine die’ that is Ambassador Fadika would remain as godfather forever, in honour of his long-standing service to AWOL and contribution to nation building.
Kweku M. S. Lisk Esq. will stay on as deputy godfather and Thomas Koroma- a close ally of Ambassador Fadika was elected Chairman ‘Kaduna’.
