The Principal Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 Dr. Abu Bakarr Binneh Kamara has committed the murder case of the Late Retired Lieutenant General Samuel Omar Williams to the High Court of Sierra Leone for trial.
The four accused persons: Ibrahim Kalokoh alias Kartel or Fayah, Festus Mansaray alias Big Man or Wise K, Alhaji Steven Bangura alias Stegal and Alpha Umaru Jalloh alias Maju; were alleged to have conspired together with unknown persons to commit Robbery with Aggravation, and murdered the Late Retired Lieutenant General Samuel Omar Williams who was the former Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF). The incident was said to have taken place at Umuels Drive, Devil Hole in Western Rural District on the 22nd December 2016.
“The prosecution,” the Magistrate said, “has produced sufficient evidence in court that the four accused persons who the state alleged have conspired together with other unknown persons to murder the late Lieutenant General S.O Williams in his residence have a case to answer.”
State Counsel, Ahmed J. M. Bockarie is the prosecutor for this case.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Dr. Abu Bakerr Binneh Kamara did not give the four accused persons bail and he has remanded them in custody at the Male Correctional Center until their murder case comes up for trial in the High Court of Sierra Leone.
