Standard Chartered Regional Head of Compliance, Africa & Middle East Visits Sierra Leone
Freetown 13 June 2017 — Mr. Emmanuel Degroote, Regional Head of Compliance, Africa & Middle East, with responsibility for driving the Bank’s regulatory agenda across Africa & Middle East, is in Freetown on a three-day duty tour.
Mr. Degroote is a seasoned Banker with extensive Africa experience having held senior Africa Compliance roles. He studied Law at the University of Louvain in Belgium.
Prior to joining the Bank, He worked for more than 10 years at Euro clear, the clearing and settlement bank in Brussels, as Group Head of Legal and previously as Chief Compliance Officer.
During his visit, he will naturally be reviewing the progress of Standard Chartered’s franchise in Sierra Leone and will be holding strategic discussions with key government officials. Mr. Degroote will depart Freetown on Wednesday June 14, 2017.
