Commissioners of the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone on Tuesday July 4th, 2017 met with the British High Commissioner, Guy Warrington at his office at Spur Road.
The meeting gave an opportunity to the Chairperson of HRCSL, Rev. Dr. Usman Jesse Fornah to share the activities and elections monitoring plan to the British High Commissioner.
The HRCSL Chair also shared the work undertaken so far by his Commission in the area of Business and Human Rights and the intention of having a National Conference on it where a National Policy would be derived.

The British High Commissioner, Guy Warrington said the British Government was involved in human rights and mentioned issues like death penalty, female genital mutilation and the seditious and criminal laws as issues they have or working on. He also mentioned the support to a civil society consortium on elections.
The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone was created by an Act of Parliament in 2004 to protect and promote human rights in Sierra Leone.
