Kadco Company on Thursday June 29th 2017, donated learning materials worth million of Leones to school going children at Murray Town in the Western Area of Freetown to assist them in their future pursuit in academia.
Councilor Madam Balomi of Ward 390 in the ceremony cautioned the beneficiaries’ children to put more efforts in their school work. She added that parents should take proper care in monitoring the performance of their children especially the girl child because when you educate the girl child you have educated a whole nation. She encouraged the female students to concentrate on their school work and not to be swayed by young boys for them not to destroy their school going process. She went on to say that government should do more to protect teenage girls that are pregnant and that they should even consider punishing young boys or adults that are responsible for the pregnancy of a teenage girl.
Mr. Emile V. Morgan, General Manager of Kadco Company said that Kadco Company has been a great help in the Murray Town community. He added that the entire donation is worth ten million Leones (Le10,000,000).
He continued that to ensure transparency in the process, they invited schools like the Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, Vine Memorial Secondary School, Poehesti Islamic Secondary School, Government Technical Secondary School, Murray Town Army Municipal School, Murray Town Primary Municipal Secondary School etc to be beneficiaries. He went on to say that each of these schools’ children were given school materials and some were given scholarships in form of cash in motivating them to learn and focus in their studies.
