APC-Led Gov’t Clocks 6 Months into Second Term ...Party Prepares for Third Term
The ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) will tomorrow May 23rd 2013, clock a full six months into its second five-year term in governance. It can be recalled that November 23rd 2012 was the date that the presidential elections results were announced with the APC candidate and incumbent, Ernest Bai Koroma being declared winner making him re-elected to a second and final term in office.

In typical African tradition, politicians in Sierra Leone on May 15th 2013, put aside their various party colours and partisan views to grieve together for the loss of Hon. Alice Foyah, a female parliamentarian from the opposition SLPP. The day saw Charles Margai leading a group of PMDC members to extend condolence to the SLPP. Also at SLPP headquarters was Osman Yansaneh, the Secretary-General of the ruling APC who also led a high-powered delegation of APC Cabinet Ministers and politicians to extend condolences to the SLPP family.

For allegedly threatening state security in Sierra Leone and uttering tribalistic statements with the aim of inciting one tribe up against another tribe, the Chairman and Leader of the UDM (United Democratic Movement), Mr. Mohamed Bangura has called on the Government of Sierra Leone through the law officers department to issue a warrant of arrest for the Chairman and Leader of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) Mr. Charles Margai. Bangura made this call at a press conference held in his part's headquarters on Pademba Road in Freetown yesterday 8th May 2013, where he was responding to Mr. Margai's press conference held on Tuesday 7th May and radio interview aired yesterday morning.
