A team of ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) leaders comprising of the Honourable Vice President, Dr. Victor Bockarie Foh; the Northern Regional Chairman of the APC, Hon. Buya Kamara; APC Tonkolili District Chairman, Hon. Dr Minkailu Bah; Minister of State Office of the Vice President, Hon. Mohamed Alie Bah; Resident Minister North, Hon. Alie Kamara and many others have on Wednesday 15th February 2017, rocked Bumbuna Town in what is referred to as “the 4-4-4 formation” in the final APC rally for the by-election in Constituency 066.

Speaking to a massive crowd of supporters who thronged the Bumbuna Town Field, Hon. Dr. Minkailu Bah, who is also the chairman of APC Tonkolili District, said that the concept of overwhelmingly voting for the APC in his home district is not new in the minds of the people on Bumbuna. He further stated that he is confident that the people of Bumbuna will not only vote in the APC candidate, Rosemarie Bangura, but that they will also win the vacant Member of Parliament seat in an overwhelming margin.

The District chairman also added, “just like in 2012 when the APC secured more than 90% of total votes cast in this constituency, I have also been assured by the people of Constituency 066 that infact we would have a massive increase than our previous votes,” as he explained in our native Krio Language.

In his keynote address, the Vice President, Honorable Dr. Victor Bockarie Foh thanked the chiefs and District Party Executives for the hospitality accorded him during his one night stay in Bumbuna. He reminded residents of Constituency 066 that the APC is their own party and that they must therefore not look at Rosemarie Bangura as an individual but to look at the red APC symbol.

Additionally, the Vice President commended other APC supporters who had contested for the party’s symbol to run for the vacant MP seat. He thanked them for solidly standing behind Rosemarie Bangura, and stressed that, that is indeed the true spirit of APC comradeship.

At the same APC rally, three Paramount Chiefs of Kalasongoia Chiefdom, Kafe Simiria Chiefdom and Sambia Chiefdom all in Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone, whose chiefdoms form Constituency 066 have endorsed APC Candidate. PC A. B.Y. Koroma and PC Kulio Jalloh of Kalasongoia and Sambaia chiefdoms respectively joined their brother, PC Alimamy Bangura of Kafe Simiri Chiefdom, who is the father to the APC’s Rosemarie Bangura to pledge supports to her.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Wednesday 15th February 2017, according to the National Electoral Commission (NEC) calendar, was the final campaign date for the incumbent All Peoples Congress (APC) Party in the by-election. Their candidate, Rosemarie Bangura has thus far proved to enjoy huge support from the ranks of the APC party. Today, Thursday 16th February 2017, is the last day of campaigning, and it is climaxed by the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party. The polls are scheduled for Saturday, 18th February, 2017.
